A major achievement in Asia in the first half year of 2020 was the publication of the Asian Principles of Business Restructuring. It is the result of a study undertaken by the Asian Business Law Institute (ABLI) and the International Insolvency Institute (III), and I have been reviewing closely its development as a member of its Advisory Committee. With this post I encourage readers to take a look again at these principles, and note the significance of the convergence of procedures and practices for business reorganisation regimes in Asia. See https://bobwessels.nl/blog/2020-04-doc2-asian-principles-of-business-restructuring-a-promising-first-step/. ABLI’s secretariat is operating from Singapore. I have been informed that the lockdown there has been gradually lifted, so delivery services will be able to follow orders for the hard copy books and send these out without delay.
